Now imagine swiping through Instagram or TikTok. I bet you also feel like you’re seeing the same type of content over and over in your niche. The same trends and type of content—just slightly tweaked.

Let’s find your Blue Ocean by making a Strategy Canvas

Study your niche closely, find what everyone is doing, and make content that takes the opposite direction to stand out. Finding your "blue ocean" doesn’t happen overnight. It takes multiple iterations to discover what sticks and what doesn’t. But with a clear, step-by-step approach, you will find it.

Step 01 — Create a chart with an X-axis and a Y-axis

On the X-axis, list key factors/patterns in your niche (mine are just examples). On the Y-axis, mark the emphasis creators place on each (low to high).

Step 02 — Analyze the niche

Plot where most creators fall for each factor to identify patterns and gaps.

Step 03 — Find the opportunities

Look for areas with low competition or unique factor combinations—your potential "blue oceans."

Step 04 — Rate and decide

Rate how well you can excel in these gaps and use this to refine your focus.

Professional camera

High-quality cameras are common, so upgrading mine wouldn’t make a difference.

Basic editing

Simple videos with basic camera movements are standard and wouldn’t help me stand out.

Sense for styling interiors

Most creators style interiors well, but redesigning mine regularly is costly and time-consuming.

Design background

Many, including me, have a design background, so focusing on this offers little advantage.

Complex / unique editing

Advanced editing helped me create eye-catching content and build a skill gap others can’t easily bridge.

Following reel trends

I jump on trends I like—they’re low-effort, have viral potential, and save time while driving growth.

Special filming gear (drones, sliders etc)

Special gear like drones and sliders let me capture unique shots, creating a standout edge that's hard to replicate.

Educational content

Not the focus, but here and there I’ll throw in some educational content.

My journey to 125,000+ followers and 50M+ views

After spending about two months studying my niche, I started introducing unique content based on the patterns and opportunities I discovered. This skyrocketed the page from 1,000 to 10,000 followers in 18 days. I doubled down on what worked, found new content angles to build a solid foundation for growth and from there it’s basically rinse and repeat.

I focused on observing what others were posting, replicating that content to warm up the account, and identifying opportunities to set myself apart. During this period, the channel grew modestly from 0 to 1,000 followers.
